Corrosion Repair and Prevention
- Client: Port of Felixstowe
- Date: November 2008 – June 2009
- Value: £1.2million
Project Description
Design, supply and installation of cathodic protection system to main harbour walls. Underwater structural repairs of Roll on-Roll off (Ro-Ro) ferry terminals.
Services Provided
Innovative solution provided to reduce diving time when repairing harbour walls. Working with 180 tonnes of anodes we had designed, we fabricated large frames with 18 anodes welded to them above the water. This meant only 4 brackets needed to be welded underwater, reducing diving time substantially.
In addition we designed, fabricated and welded underwater steel plates to the tubular piles where severe corrosion had been found.
