Ocean Kinetics are proud to have supported the Leadership Learning event for S6 pupils at the Anderson High School.
S6 pupils were part of a committee who arranged the event with all S6 pupils invited along with a range of representatives from local businesses and organisations.
Central to the event were speeches by well-known Shetland faces; journalist Phil Goodlad, food entrepreneur Evonne Morrison and personal trainer Russell Gair.
Pupils from the Anderson High School studying Practical Cookery prepared the food for the event. These pupils in S5 and S6 used the skills developed as part of their SQA course to engage in a live event, giving then the opportunity to see the relevance of the school based learning in the wider world of work.
Musical entertainment was also provided by pupils during the event including Attie Black (accompanied by Annalie Hayward), Callum Leask (accompanied by Attie Black) and Winston Ho (accompanied by Julie Johnson).
Ocean Kinetics are proud to have been involved in this event, encouraging Class 6 pupils to reflect upon the inspirational experiences of former pupils and to meet with key members of our local business community. Anderson High School has a roll of 900 pupils. Although located in Lerwick, the school’s catchment area is from Unst to Fair Isle.
