OCEAN KINETICS APPOINTS NEW COMMERCIAL MANAGER TO DRIVE GROWTH

August 14, 2025
Shane Jamieson

Ocean Kinetics Ltd has announced that it has appointed chartered civil engineer Shane Jamieson as the company’s commercial manager. The appointment is key to driving growth in the marine and harbour engineering sector.

Shane’s career in civil engineering consultancy spanned more than 13 years, marked by a steady rise from graduate engineer to partner. Known for his expertise in marine civils design, project management, and commercial leadership, he has helped shape some of the Northern Isles’ most significant infrastructure projects — from Mair’s Pier and Dales Voe South in Lerwick to the proposed Scapa Deep Water Quay and Hatston Harbour expansions in Orkney. Earlier in his career, Shane gained valuable experience working in Aberdeen and Southampton, developing his technical knowledge and insight into ports, harbour and civil engineering.

In his new role, Shane will lead the development and execution of major contracts, oversee governance, and support the delivery of larger, more complex projects across all departments, while contributing to Ocean Kinetics’ continued technical excellence and client-focused approach.

John Henderson, managing director of Ocean Kinetics said: “Shane’s technical expertise, commercial acumen and proven leadership will be a huge asset as we continue to grow. His breadth of experience and track record in delivering complex infrastructure projects, makes him the perfect addition to our team.”

Shane said: “I’m really looking forward to working with the Ocean Kinetics team to procure and deliver projects that bring lasting value to our clients, stakeholders and wider communities.”
