Ocean Kinetics Crafts Merchant Navy Memorial

Ocean Kinetics is proud to have built and erected the Merchant Navy memorial at Hay’s Dock on Lerwick’s waterfront.
The memorial commemorates the service and sacrifice of Shetlanders lost at sea.
Ocean Kinetics carried out the groundwork and concrete foundations, and used marine grade stainless steel to manufacture the structure. We then applied a deep polish finish to the piece, before transporting and bolting to the foundations.
It has been a privilege to deliver this important tribute to our seafarers, who have lost their lives at sea in both war and peace times. The memorial is a lasting reminder of that sacrifice.
