OCEAN KINETICS OPENS NEW ENGINEERING SHOP AND STORES IN KIRKWALL

Engineering and fabrication specialists Ocean Kinetics Ltd will open an engineering shop and stores facility at Hatston Industrial Park in Kirkwall on Monday (29 September 2025).

This new development is designed to support customers, operating across a wide range of industries, that require professional tools, equipment, and materials. The opening is part of the wider workshop development programme planned for the site, which will expand the company’s capacity to deliver high-quality engineering and fabrication services in Orkney.

The shop will offer a comprehensive selection of products, including Kemppi welders, Bahco tools, adhesives, fasteners, PPE, sheet steel and section, pipes, valves, flanges, and more, catering to local businesses, tradespeople, and contractors.

The opening has created an immediate job opportunity for a shop/storesperson, with additional roles to follow as the workshop becomes fully operational.

Garry Stevenson, Production Manager for Ocean Kinetics in Orkney, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our new, state-of-the-art shop and stores in Kirkwall, as part of our wider workshop development. It mirrors the facility in Lerwick, which has been a vital resource for Shetland’s industrial community for over 10 years.
