OCEAN KINETICS OPENS NEW KIRKWALL WORKSHOP

Ocean Kinetics has now moved into its new, expanded workshop facility in Sparrowhawk Road at Hatston Industrial Estate in Orkney, strengthening its capability to support clients with a wide range of fabrication and engineering-related services across key industry sectors.

The new premises feature increased workshop space, upgraded infrastructure, and state-of-the-art machinery, enabling the team to take on larger, more complex projects with increased efficiency and turnaround times. An expansion that supports growth across the wider business.

The company’s eight-strong team will welcome two new starts in the coming weeks, with additional recruitment planned for early next year, as business continues to increase. The expansion and additional recruitment ensure that the business is well placed to continue to meet the demand for high-quality services and, at the same time, scale sustainably.

One of the busiest and fastest-growing areas of the business is Ocean Kinetics marine services division. In Orkney, marine-related activity has grown in recent months, driven largely by the introduction of ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) inspection and support services — a new and increasingly sought-after service by clients.
